McLaren Vale Vineyard Wedding | Katie & Andrew

When your friends own a vineyard and you’re getting married, what do you do? Katie and Andrew held their wedding in McLaren Vale at their friends property. With the ceremony held on the lawns with the vines as the backdrop and the reception in the barrel shed, it was a perfect fit for their casual and intimate wedding. They included many family members in their special day with their niece Maeve as the perfect flower girl. Also, their Grandmothers signed their marriage papers as witnesses. They were completely smitten with the idea to be included in the formalities.

We met at the vineyard for their site visit a few weeks prior to the wedding. At the time the barrel shed was full of barrels and vineyard paraphernalia. Yet, on the wedding day, it was completely transformed! The fresh palette of greens and whites made the day incredibly cool and classy on what was quite a warm March day. During the reception we ducked out for some sunset photos. The McLaren Vale sunset from the vineyards vantage point was lovely with the cloud cover diffusing the light. It had been a hot day and the night stayed warm, but thankfully dessert was the St Louis ice-cream cart!
