Sophie and Ryan married at St Francis Xavier Cathedral with a reception at Marybank Farm. It was possibly the hottest day in March but the sweltering weather didn’t wilt anyone (just a few flowers)! Thankfully the Cathedral had fans and wasn’t as hot as they initially expected. After the ceremony, we made our way out of the city to their reception. In the foothills sits the adorable Marybank Farm. Marybank is a working vineyard and farm and has been in the Fox family for generations. Marybank has gorgeous gardens for bridal portraits with so many sweet little pockets. Thankfully there is a lot of shaded areas so we could keep out of the sun.
Having a cocktail reception meant everyone could mingle and spread out on the alfresco area and the lush lawns. The area fell into shadow as the sun started to set and provided a tiny bit of relief from the heat. At sunset the three of us (I’ve been the third wheel on so many wedding days that it’s no longer awkward! Ha!) hiked up to top of the hill where the view over the city and out to the coast is just divine. A first dance in the sweet little Marybank Farm barn and delicious grazing platters completed the casual (and warm) reception.
Sophie and Ryan, thank you for having me along to your gorgeous wedding. x
