Mt Osmond winter sunsets are something else. When Lisa and Damian contacted me (on recommendation from her sister Rachael, who is an awesome photographer) I had the perfect location for sunset photos – as long as the rain held off.
They planned their Winter wedding for the end of July, making sure they had wet weather options for the unpredictable weather! The weather forecast was looking pretty drab the week leading up to their wedding so I packed the clear umbrellas for the almost certain rain! The morning of their wedding it was clear as a bell. Damian, his groomsmen and I walked down to the local park where they had hung out and played as kids. Although by the time I got to St Columba’s church for their ceremony later in the day it started to look dicey
Despite the weather closing in, Lisa and Damian were radiant and their happiness definitely outshone the weather! Tabor College was the perfect location for rain, with its wide verandahs and historic architecture. It was also a sentimental location choice as Damian once worked at Tabor. Our plan had been to head up to Mt Osmond for a few sunset portraits before their wedding reception at the Mt Osmond Golf Club, although we weren’t 100% sure it would happen. However, as we were driving towards the summit the clouds lifted just a touch. By the time we were overlooking the city we were greeted with the most gorgeous winter sunset. Watching the sun set at the summit was the perfect end to the perfect winter wedding.
